Job summary

Medical City Healthcare is seeking an RN for MedSurg Ortho in a part-time capacity. The role involves caring for post-surgical ortho patients, with 12-hour shifts and weekend rotation.

You will assess, treat, educate, and advocate for patients while collaborating with the care team to achieve outstanding outcomes. The ideal candidate has an ASN, TX RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year in acute care; BSN within 24 months is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Associate's Degree okay to start, must obtain BSN within 24 months of hire.
• Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license.
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care hospital; Ortho experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and document care in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor therapeutic response.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the condition, treatment plan, and follow-up measures.
