Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking an RN for the Med/Surg unit on the 6th Floor. The role involves coordinating and delivering patient-centered care, with collaboration across physicians and nurses to ensure safe, effective treatment and discharge planning.

The RN will perform assessments, administer medications, educate patients and families, and participate in life-saving interventions as needed. Licensure and BCLS are required, ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in an acute care setting.
• Active RN licensure and Basic Life Support (BCLS) required.
• ACLS and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care following the care plan.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency and scope.
• Develop and evaluate individualized patient care plans with the team.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR and code team activities.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, plans, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain infection control protocols and safe clinical environments.
• Document care promptly in the medical record and participate in quality improvements.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with all policies.
