Job summary

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical + Observation unit for a full-time night shift (7:00pm-7:30am). The unit uses 12-hour shifts with an average census under 18, a 5:1 patient ratio, and every third weekend rotation.

You will provide direct patient care, educate patients and families on illness management and home care needs, and participate in care-plan development with the interprofessional team.

Qualifications

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation.
• Educates patients and families on illness management, home care needs and medication administration.
• Safety-sensitive role requiring alertness and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness management and home care needs.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
