Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) for Med Surg 5W at Mercy Hospital South in Missouri. This full-time, night-shift role (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) supports new grads and experienced nurses, with sign-on bonuses up to $10,000 for experienced nurses and up to $5,000 for new graduates.

The unit handles adult medical patients and aims to strengthen Med Surg skills, with a strong emphasis on patient rights, confidentiality, and collaboration across departments. BLS required

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Night Shift | 7:00PM-7:30AM

Sign-On Bonus: Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000

New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

About the Unit

Med Surg 5W cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia.

This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN preferred

• Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred

• Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
