Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN is seeking a Registered Nurse to float across Med Surg units. This role requires current RN licensure, BLS certification, and a Diploma in Nursing.

The nurse will provide expert care across multiple specialties and coordinate with the care team. The PRN night schedule demands vigilance, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to rotating units and patient needs in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month of hire date or transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or multi-state (Compact) license recognized prior to hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care across Neurology, Orthopedics, Oncology, Observation, Pulmonary Post Thoracic Surgery, Renal Dialysis, Vascular and Medical Telemetry units.
• Implement complex care plans and vigilantly monitor patient conditions, ensuring seamless communication with the broader medical team.
• Act as the central hub for patient care, coordinating between physicians, therapists, and specialists for superior outcomes.
• Carry out orders for post-thoracic recovery, renal and pulmonary care as needed.
• Coordinate discharge and care needs, advocating for patients in changing clinical environments.
