AdventHealth Tampa in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shift float coverage. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to manage patient flow, perform timely assessments, and coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers.

The role requires an RN license, BLS, and NIHSS certification, with EPIC charting as a preferred skill. Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and 1+ year of acute care experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida or eligible to practice
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification required or must be obtained promptly after hire

Responsibilities

• Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow and placement
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes
• Delivers nursing care with emphasis on safety, effectiveness, and cost efficiency

• Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiate consults as indicated, and identify patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Other duties as assigned. Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes.
