Job summary

Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA seeks an RN for Med/Surg daytime shifts (7am-7pm). The role delivers patient-centered care across ages, coordinating and documenting assessments and plans with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
  • Experience: None.
  • Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
  • Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.

  • Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
  • Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
  • Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
  • Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
  • Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in dynamic and changing care environments.
  • Implements strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
  • Serves as a role model and supports development of peers and team members.
  • Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
  • Supports orientation and training of new employees.
  • Uses problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
  • Provides feedback and participates in shared decision-making activities.
  • Supports education activities within the department.

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

This position is located at Carilion Giles Community Hospital (CGCH) in Pearisburg, VA working full time, days 7am-7pm with EOW & rotating holidays.

The RN provides professional nursing care to patients across all age groups, supporting patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. This role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient outcomes.

What We Require:

Compensation Range:

$33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
