Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for 7B, Night shift on a part-time basis. The unit handles complex diagnoses with opportunities to manage chronic and acute conditions, and provides a pathway for learning and professional growth within Mercy’s mission and standards.

You will apply the nursing process to deliver patient care, work with interdisciplinary teams, and maintain patient rights and confidentiality while supporting Mercy’s commitment to quality care and staff development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or course completed within 30 days of hire.

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinates patient care with other departments.

Position Details

Nurses work 7a-7p or 7p-7a including rotational weekends. Full Time and Part Time available.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

This environment provides a strong foundation in nursing and clinical skills. The unit serves the medical surgical population by managing chronic and acute onset diseases. The types of patients we serve are those with multi-system management needs such as infectious disease, wound management, pneumonia, sepsis, COPD, diabetes and gastro-intestinal conditions, and post-surgical patients. We also coordinate management of patients needing surgical interventions, EGD, colonoscopy, outpatient infusion/chemo, and anti-coagulation therapies.
