Job summary

MercyOne, part of Trinity Health, is seeking an RN to join our Orthopedic & Trauma team in Des Moines. You will provide high-quality nursing care, assess and plan patient care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for orthopedic, trauma, and post-surgical patients.

Opportunity includes a sign-on bonus up to $20,000, relocation assistance, and both full-time and part-time shifts. BLS and Iowa RN license are required, with ACLS for telemetry units.

Qualifications

• An Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
• BSN is preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS is required for telemetry-capable units.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Care for orthopedic, trauma, post-surgical, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients.
• Administer medications and treatments safely.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, care managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families throughout their care journey.
• Coordinate discharge planning and transitions of care.
• Supervise and support LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other team members.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.

About the Role

Join our Orthopedic & Trauma team and provide exceptional care to patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, trauma, surgery, and acute medical conditions. As an RN, you'll work alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care while helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes.

What You'll Do
