Job summary

Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for the Med Surg Care Unit 2nd Fl in Zeeland. You will provide direct nursing care to adult patients, delivering evidence-based interventions during day-to-day shifts in a busy 36-hour weekly schedule, including nights.

The role requires an RN with an associate degree or higher, NYS? (note: MI) RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and retirement options as described by the hospital.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelors in Nursing required within 5 years.
• MI RN registration required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate critical thinking using the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, evaluate.
• Uphold professional practice standards and ensure high-quality patient care.

About The Unit

The Med Surg Unit is a 29 bed unit with an attached 7 bed ICU. Adult patients have a variety of diagnosis. Most patients are medical cases. We also see surgical cases including bariatric, total joint, abdominal, podiatry, and more.

Scope of Work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
