Overview

The Nurse Manager of Inpatient Children's Services NICU manages and supervises functions of the assigned patient care area on a 24-hour basis, ensuring effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative, quality, and clinical policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Certifications:

  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year
  • National Nursing Certification within 3 years

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Nursing

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 years in Children's Services Nursing
Responsibilities
  • Conduct performance appraisals and ensure ongoing staff development.
  • Oversee staff orientation, credentialing, and continuing education.
  • Assess staffing needs and assign patient care appropriately.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, and retention efforts, emphasizing diversity.
  • Manage personnel and serve as a nursing role model.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency and supervise execution of nursing care.
  • Plan and manage the unit budget, monitor variances, and ensure daily patient rounds.
  • Monitor HCAHPS scores, develop improvement plans, and respond to action lines promptly.
  • Oversee quality initiatives, supplies, and equipment management.
  • Mentor staff, address disciplinary issues, and follow up on multidisciplinary concerns.
  • Conduct staff evaluations, participate in hiring processes, and lead process improvements within departments.

Compensation and Benefits
