Bronson Commons in Mattawan is seeking an RN/LPN, PRN, for a part-time role to deliver high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting. You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Requires nursing degree and Michigan RN license in good standing, BLS, and ability to read and document data across systems. Prior geriatrics experience preferred; VAST training provided by Bronson Commons.

Qualifications

• Associate's, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Experience in Long Term Care, Rehab, or geriatrics preferred.
• Licensed RN in good standing with the State of Michigan required.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and manage care plans for residents.
• Assess, document, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per policy.
• Rotate to units as needed; participate in on-call expectations.
• Maintain patient safety, comfort, and provide patient education.

Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.Associate's degree, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required Experience in Long Term Care, Rehab, or general Geriatrics preferred Licensed RN in good standing with the State of Michigan required.VAST training, as provided by Bronson Commons BLS certification required by completion of core orientation Successful completion of clinical orientation program Geriatric Certification preferred • Basic computer skills required • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment in order to set an appropriate plan of action • Must be able to constantly communicate verbally, in writing and electronically Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time. Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects. • The registered nurse collects, assesses, and documents comprehensive data pertinent to the patients’ health or the situation and implements appropriate interventions. • The registered nurse identifies expected outcomes for a care plan individualized to the patient o Utilizes the patient/family input. Incorporating the patient values, ethical and cultural considerations. o Develops individualized interventions with patient, family, and staff input when appropriate o Administers prescribed medication and treatment in accordance with approved nursing techniques and polices o Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of the patient. o Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, and coordinates the implementation of the plan. o Manages the care plan for patients by organizing and delegation patient care interventions to be implemented.
