Job summary

Moab Regional Hospital’s Specialty Clinic is seeking an RN, LPN, or MA to deliver comprehensive nursing care in an outpatient setting. You will triage calls, educate patients, and coordinate care within a collaborative clinic team.

The role is full-time, non-exempt with benefits. Utah or compact-state RN/LPN licenses are required; MA certification preferred. Outpatient experience is a plus, with schedule Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Utah or compact-state RN or LPN license; MA certification preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control, patient safety, and prevention of adverse reactions to medications/treatments.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills with patients and teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small clinic team.
• Experience in outpatient settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in the outpatient clinic setting.
• Triage calls, assess needs, and provide guidance based on licensure.
• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Assist providers with procedures and examinations.
• Document care in the EMR and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Support quality improvement and safety programs; adhere to policies.

Moab Regional Hospital (MRH) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced medical professional to join our Specialty Clinic team.

This professional will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across a variety of medical specialties in an outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. They will be responsible for patient assessment, triage, education, and care coordination.

This position is a non-exempt, full-time, benefitted position.

Anticipated schedule:

Full time (40 hours per week) Monday–Friday, 08:00-17:00

RN Starting pay range: $32.92 – 46.88/hour, DOE.

LPN Staring pay range: $24.50 - 34.89/hour/ DOE.

MA Starting pay range: $20.00 - 31.33/hour, DOE.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides professional care to patients in the clinic/outpatient setting in compliance with professional practice standards.
• Triage incoming patient calls, assess needs, and provide appropriate advice or direction based on scope of practice and licensure.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs. This includes assessing patient’s condition, triaging patient phone calls, counseling patients, providing patient education, taking patient histories, performing screenings, and administering vaccinations and medications.
• Assists healthcare providers with procedures and examinations.
• Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
• Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
• Participates in developing and maintaining established policies, procedures and objectives; quality improvement; safety; environmental and infection prevention programs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

• Current, unencumbered Utah or compact state RN or LPN license. MA certification preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and prevention of adverse reactions to medications/treatments.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to maintain such in situations with rapidly changing circumstances.
• Demonstrated communication skills, both orally and in writing, with providers, co-workers, patients, and patient families.
• Must possess high level of self-motivation and be comfortable working both independently, and as part of a small team.
• Knowledge of computer systems, data entry and electronic medical records.
• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. without assistance and lift/move weights beyond 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to work in a confidential manner.
• Reliable and timely with work schedule.
• Flexible and willing to accept other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in an outpatient setting preferred (Family Practice, Surgical Center, GYN etc)
