Job summary

Las Cruces Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN or LVN) to oversee resident care and supervise nursing staff on a full-time day shift. The RN is to develop care plans and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and aides while ensuring safety regulations are followed.

The candidate must hold a current LVN/LPN or RN license in the practicing state and maintain BLS/CPR certification. Nursing management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience leading nursing teams or units is preferred.
• Current LVN/LPN or RN license in practicing state.
• Active BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedure for charting and incident reporting.
• Follows company procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
• Documents any change in patient’s conditions including nutritional problems, infections, skin conditions, weight loss or other changes.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for patient placement and monitoring in programs.
• Documents and notifies departments of room changes, LOA, admits, or discharges.
• Coordinates rounds with physicians when necessary.

The Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse will be responsible for resident care and directing nursing staff. The RN is expected to develop the plan of care and collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants. The RN will also monitor assigned staff to ensure that all safety regulations are upheld.

Charge Nurse (RN or LVN) will provide nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies as well as state, federal and local guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current LVN/LPN or RN license in practicing state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to acquire one.
• Experience in nursing management is preferred but not required.
