Job summary

Los Alamos Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN or LVN) to lead resident care and supervise nursing staff on site in Los Alamos, NM. The RN/LVN will develop care plans and coordinate with physicians, therapists, and nursing assistants to ensure safety and quality of care.

The role emphasizes adherence to standards, correct narcotics handling, timely charting, and rounds with physicians as needed in a center setting.

Qualifications

• Current LVN/LPN or RN license in practicing state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to acquire one.
• Experience in nursing management is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedure for charting and incident reporting.
• Follows company procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
• Documents any change in patient's conditions including nutritional issues, infections, skin problems, weight loss, or other noticeable changes.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for patient identification, placement, and monitoring.
• Document and notify applicable departments of room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

The Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse will be responsible for resident care and directing nursing staff. The RN is expected to develop the plan of care and collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants. Charge Nurse (RN or LVN) will provide nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient's needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies as well as state, federal and local guidelines.
