Job summary

Down East Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time Labor & Delivery care. You will independently provide holistic, individualized nursing care using the nursing process for patients on the unit, demonstrating clinical competency, nursing judgment, and teaching skills.

You will care for obstetrical patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases, collaborate with the care team, and ensure meticulous documentation per hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the appropriate state or eligibility for endorsement.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Effective critical thinking and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide age-appropriate care for postpartum, nursery, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Coordinate nursing care and promote teamwork with physicians and hospital staff.
• Document care and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in discharge planning and maintain infection control practices.
