Job summary

DCH Health System seeks a Staff Nurse to plan, coordinate and deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care on site. You will assess patient needs, educate families, and collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to optimize outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an Alabama RN license or multi-state credential, with BLS and ACLS/PALS where required. BSN is preferred; strong communication and teamwork are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama Board of Nursing RN license or multi-state license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required by unit.
• BSN preferred, 2-year degree acceptable with experience.
• Strong reading, writing and spoken English skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions on admission and continuously evaluate needs.
• Plan, deliver and document patient and family education.
• Coordinate care with patients, families and other disciplines.
• Assign and delegate nursing tasks according to patient needs.
• Ensure safety, perform accurate handoffs and participate in PI activities.
