Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Five years' technical experience: Preferred
• Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills: Required
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required
• AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS: Required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM): Required

Responsibilities

• Provides unit-based leadership in the development and provision of clinical services; supervises unit personnel.
• Makes rounds to assess patient care needs and introduces self to patients and families; collaborates on care plans.
• Ensures patient safety and quality of care; contributes to performance improvement initiatives.
• Manages staffing based on patient acuity; assigns staff and arranges relief for meals/breaks.
• Ensures department equipment and environment are safe and clean; coordinates with facilities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
