Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Labor/Delivery/Nursery RN to provide comprehensive patient care in a unit that handles labor, delivery, postpartum, well newborns, and a Level II NICU. Nurses collaborate across departments while upholding patient rights and privacy on a shift that is nights.

The role requires graduation from an approved nursing program, current RN licensure in Missouri (or compact), and BLS certification or completion within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or course within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.

Unit Description

Our unit consists of labor, delivery, postpartum, well newborns, and a level II special care nursery. In addition, we also care for GYN surgical patients. Nurses are expected to work fluidly with all patient populations

Qualifications

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
