Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson Festus, MO, is seeking a Labor/Labor/Delivery/Nursery RN for 36 hours per week, nights. Unit handles labor, delivery, postpartum, well newborns, and a level II nursery with GYN patients.

Premium night shift sign-on bonuses apply: $10,000 for graduates and $13,000 for experienced nurses. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process to patient care, coordinating with departments, and protecting patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (AD, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Must have current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or completed within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Our unit consists of labor, delivery, postpartum, well newborns, and a level II special care nursery. In addition, we also care for GYN surgical patients. Nurses are expected to work fluidly with all patient populations

Qualifications:

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
