Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis seeks a Lactation Consultant RN in Maternity to educate, assist, and support breastfeeding for women and children. The Lactation Consultant RN functions as a member of the health care team to promote, support, and protect breastfeeding.

Join our maternity team to help new mothers with evidence-based lactation care, collaborating with obstetrics and pediatrics to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a supportive hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN, CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA accredited school of nursing, or 3 years related nursing experience.
• Licensed as an RN in Indiana per the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• IBCLC certification required upon hire.
• 1 year of RN experience; 1 year of Lactation Consultant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Focus on education, assistance, and support of breastfeeding for women and children.

The Lactation Consultant RN in Maternity will focus on education, assistance, and support of breastfeeding for women and children. The Lactation Consultant RN functions as a member of the health care team to promote, support, and protect breastfeeding.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

• Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC) certification required upon hire
• 1 year of RN experience required; 1 year of Lactation Consultant experience in a hospital setting preferred
