Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois (IDFPR) required.

• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS) are desirable.
• IBCLC within 5 years of certification is favored.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, staff and physicians about lactation.
• Orients new nursing staff and participates in unit councils.
• Provides one-to-one and group parent education.
• Develops comprehensive breast-feeding plans and discharge plans.
• Documents care clearly in the EMR and schedules follow-ups.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to improve patient care.
