Job Responsibilities

The Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for managing and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include:

1. Assessment and reassessment
2. Development of the care plan
3. Implementation of patient care interventions
4. Evaluation of care effectiveness
5. Supervising and coordinating care provided by licensed and non-licensed personnel
6. Providing guidance and mentorship to staff and students

This role may require floating to other units and participating in on-call duties. The nurse must adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and possess population-specific competencies.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Oklahoma or multistate license via Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification (or complete within 30 days of hire)
• Effective English communication skills
• Department-specific competencies during orientation

Additional requirements vary by department:

• Hospice: Current CPR (preferred CHPN certification)
• Radiology: ACLS certification
• Employee Health: Valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, proof of auto insurance
• Mental Health: Ability to operate INTEGRIS or personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record
• Emergency Department: PALS (within 12 months), ACLS (within 6 months)

Additional Information

The nurse will manage patient care documentation, supervise staff, and provide mentorship. The role involves physical demands and potential exposure to infections and hazards, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
