Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery. As a Magnet recognized organization, our L&D team delivers high-quality, patient-centered care across antepartum to triage and beyond, with a strong emphasis on safety and evidence-based practice.

The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care, collaborate with an inter-professional team, maintain accurate records, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
• 1+ years RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS in certain units.
• Nursing degree (Diploma, ASN or BSN) preferred; BSN expected within 4 years.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to meet job responsibilities with physical endurance.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in Labor & Delivery, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
