Job summary

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, part of Scripps Health, is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a full-time night-shift position on a 12-hour schedule, including weekends and holidays. The unit supports a Level III NICU and comprehensive obstetric services, with a Magnet Hospital designation for nursing excellence.

Ideal candidates have 1 year L&D experience, a California RN license, BLS, and EPIC proficiency, with strong interpersonal skills and English fluency.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in Labor & Delivery preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• CA RN license and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice on the Labor & Delivery unit.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and progress.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has served the greater San Diego community since 1924. This is a Full-Time (72 hours per pay period, every 2 weeks) position on a 12-hour NIGHT shift schedule working variable days of the week including weekends and holidays.

Position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

We invite you to join our highly engaged team of Registered Nurses responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice.

• Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes.
• The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Preferred Education/Course(s)/Training/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• RNC preferred.
• 2 years’ experience in Labor & Delivery preferred.
• EPIC experience preferred.
• Experience circulating in the operating room preferred.
• Triage experience preferred.

Required Experience/Specialized Skills

• 1-year experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
• Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing

Required Certification/Registration

• Current CA RN License
• Current BLS-C provider from American Heart Association.
• Current Advanced NRP (AAP-issued 8th edition or AAP-issued 7th edition)
• Current Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Certificate from AWHONN or NCC

Position Pay Range: $59.16-$85.68/hour
