Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery to rotate across three hospitals with a flexible schedule, every other weekend, designated holidays, and shifts planned to support work-life balance.

You'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, educate families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to maintain safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred) or graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum 2-3 years of recent clinical experience in a Labor & Delivery/LDRP unit.
• Demonstrated ability to float across the healthcare system across multi-unit environments.
• Proven track record of high-quality, patient-centered care with strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate quality, compassionate patient care delivery across multiple acute care settings.
• Apply the nursing process to assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Delegate and supervise nursing care while maintaining accountability for patient safety and quality standards.
• Provide comprehensive patient and family education, ensuring understanding and engagement in care decisions.
• Document care accurately and thoroughly, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
• Communicate pertinent patient and family information effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Identify variances from patient goals and collaborate with the team to implement evidence-based solutions.
• Demonstrate flexibility and clinical excellence while floating between units and care levels.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional nursing excellence.
