Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, Florida is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a PRN daytime role. You will conduct assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient responses within a collaborative team. Strong communication, organization, and compassionate bedside manner are essential.

Requirements include an Associate's degree in Nursing with RN licensure and 2+ years in Labor & Delivery. CPR/NRP and Cerner/EPIC familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• RN with specific Labor and Delivery experience.
• Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions and adjust plans as needed.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and self-care.

Job Description:

PRN Expectations:

• Pay is a set rate of $43/hr plus shift differentials




• Shift Expectations: 6:45am to 7:15pm




• Minimum of 4 shifts per 6-week schedule




• 2 weekend shifts required within the 4-shift commitment




• 1 major holiday and 1 minor holiday required annually

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.


• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.


• Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.


• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.


• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Skills required to work in critical care area as defined by unit


• Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills


• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs


• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

• Knowledgeable in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance


• EKG knowledge (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)


• Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]


• Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]


• EPIC [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]


• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 2+ yr of experience as a Labor and Delivery RN [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
