Job summary

Eastside Medical Center is seeking a Staff Nurse for a 13-bed unit with obstetric coverage. You will provide comprehensive nursing care from birth through the lifecycle, following nursing processes and upholding standards of practice.

The role involves coordinating patient care with a team of physicians and hospital staff, ensuring patient-centered care aligned with AWHONN standards. BLS and GA RN licensure are required; new grads may be considered for PRN positions.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Current Georgia RN license (NLC/eNCL Multistate).
• BCLS/CPR certification required.
• New graduates eligible for PRN positions.

Job description

Overview

We are a 13-bed unit with 4 overflow antepartum rooms, 2 OR suites and a new 4 bed OB-ED. We have 24/7 coverage by a Hospitalist, along with a great group of physicians. Any laboring mom or preterm mom greater than 20 weeks may be seen on this unit; along with postpartum moms needing to be readmitted. Our goal is to adhere to the AWHONN standards. We closely monitor staffing to patient census which means—1:2 laboring patients, 1:1 active labor or C-section, 1:3 antepartum patients and 1:4 triage/OB-ED. We provide patient centered care as the entire health care team work together to care for mother and baby.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Work Experience

• No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and
