Job description

Responsibilities

• Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water is broken, false alarm, etc.
• Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management, and fetal monitoring.
• Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligation, cerclage, and emergency procedures.
• Educate patients on various interventions or procedures, including medications, exams, and labor stages.
• Assess newborns and provide necessary care.
• Communicate effectively with the care management team, including anesthesiologists, physicians or midwives, lactation nurses, charge nurses, postpartum units, patients, and families.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience as an RN.
• Registered Nurse license in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
