Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN to join the Perinatal Services team on a part-time basis with a $7 night differential. The role requires a BSN or progress, and a California RN license, with BLS/ACLS/NRP credentials preferred. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

You will provide patient care during 12-hour shifts, collaborate with the Perinatal team, and support families while maintaining high standards of safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN required or must complete within 5 years of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery and Postpartum nursing experience; Nursery/NICU preferred; California RN license required.
• Certification in related nursing specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care per unit standards and nursing process.
• Coordinate with Perinatal Services ensuring 12-hour accountability.
• Support families and apply neonatal resuscitation protocols as needed.

Job Description

The Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) Clinical Registered Nurse is able to consistently transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological and physical sciences in applying the nursing process and is responsible for helping people cope with difficulties in daily living that are associated with their actual or potential health or illness problems or the treatment thereof, and that require a substantial amount of scientific knowledge or technical skill.

Reporting to the Clinical Unit Supervisor (CUS) of Perinatal Services, the LDRP Clinical Registered Nurse has 12 hour accountability for the delivery of patient care to a defined group of patients according to the age, population, and social needs of the patient and family.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (individuals hired without a BSN will be required to complete a degree program within 5 years of their hire date)
• Qualifications/Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum nursing with regard to regulatory guidelines and standard of practice; Nursery and/or NICU experience preferred. Current California Nursing license Certification in related nursing specialty preferred.
• Special Skills/Knowledge: Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish) Basic computer skills Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
