Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking RN – Labor & Delivery professionals for contract opportunities across West Bloomfield, Rochester, and Wyandotte, MI. Each option features a 13-week contract with extension potential, 36 hours per week, and a 3‑day work schedule.

Shifts vary by location: night 7:00 PM–7:00 AM in West Bloomfield/Wyandotte, day shift 7:00 AM–7:30 PM in Rochester; on-call is required in Wyandotte. Comprehensive obstetric care and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Michigan RN License.
• Minimum 1–2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current NRP Certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery and Postpartum patients.
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Provide patient and family education regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
• Perform fetal monitoring and recognize changes requiring intervention.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to obstetric emergencies.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, treatments, and outcomes.
• Communicate patient information effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Supervise and delegate patient care activities as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety, and infection prevention standards.

Option 1: West Bloomfield, MI

Facility: Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital

Contract: 13 Weeks – Possible Extension to Long-Term Contract Opportunity

Additional Requirements – Based on Location:

• NRP and BLS required.
• High-volume Labor & Delivery experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Wyandotte, MI

• Fetal Heart Monitoring competency/certification required.
• Must be cross-trained in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum.
• Experience caring for Labor patients with approximately 1:2 or 1:1 ratios, depending on acuity.
• Postpartum experience with approximately 1:3–4 couplets.
• High-risk obstetric or high-acuity experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

West Bloomfield, MI

• BLS and ACLS required.
• Recent Labor & Delivery experience required.
