The Clinical Nurse Supervisor has direct responsibility of the assigned department. The supervisor assumes shift accountability for directing all activities related to clinical supervision, monitors and evaluates staffing and scheduling needs, and is responsible for hiring, developing, and evaluating staff. Demonstrates clinical and technical competence, effective critical thinking, and promotes an effective team environment. Responsible for quality, safety, patient experience, employee engagement, and financial outcomes of the department. Promotes leadership principles and fosters excellent customer service, acting as a proactive liaison for physicians, employees, patients, families, and guests. Demonstrates effective communication, conflict management, team building, and relationship skills.
Special Skills: Effective interpersonal and communication skills, decision-making in high-stress situations, objectivity, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
Supervises: Other healthcare team members.
Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school; Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
Experience: Minimum five years of relevant clinical nursing experience; management experience with supervisory duties preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in Arizona; CPR required; ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications as specified, obtained within six months if not already held.
