Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in a demanding department. You will coordinate care planning with multidisciplinary teams and demonstrate leadership to support a high-quality healthcare team.

The role emphasizes adherence to Service Excellence standards and Standards of Practice guidance to ensure safe, competent patient care in the L&D setting.

Qualifications

• Current Texas RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP current.
• AWHONN certification preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Three years of L&D or related RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care within the Labor and Delivery department; Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
• Provides leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Apply the Patient Centered Care foundation to all nursing care.
• Adhere to Service Excellence standards at all times.
• Follow Standards of Practice guidelines as set by professional nursing associations.

Qualifications

License: Must have current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas. Current BLS, ACLS and NRP required. AWHONN certifcation preferred.

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN is preferred.

Experience: Three years of L&D or related Registered Nurse experience required.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Provides care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
