Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. is seeking an experienced registered nurse for the Labor and Delivery unit to provide professional nursing care and coordinate care planning with the multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, leadership within the team, and adherence to standards of practice; a Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS and NRP are required. BSN is preferred, with at least three years of L&D experience.

Qualifications

• RN license in the State of Texas (current)
• BLS, ACLS and NRP required
• AWHONN certification preferred
• BSN degree preferred
• Three years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Ability to present information clearly to groups and analyze data

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care within the Labor and Delivery department; Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
• Additionally, nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
• The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.

Qualifications

• License: Must have current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas. Current BLS, ACLS and NRP required. AWHONN certifcation preferred.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN is preferred.
• Experience: Three years of L&D or related Registered Nurse experience required.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Provides care appropriate to the age of the patient served
