Job Description

Join Memorial Medical Center, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital centered in Port Lavaca, Texas, recognized for its Level 1 designation for Maternal and Neonatal Care. The Labor and Delivery department averages 15-20 deliveries per month, requiring a skilled RN with a strong background in rural healthcare, effective assessment skills, and experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM). This two-person department emphasizes versatility, with staff trained across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery roles. The EMR used is OBIX.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care to patients during labor and delivery.
• Conduct thorough assessments and monitor fetal heart rates using EFM.
• Support mothers through postpartum care and breastfeeding assistance.
• Work collaboratively with a team to ensure the safety and comfort of both mother and newborn.

Required Experience

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing, particularly in a rural healthcare setting.
• Strong assessment and EFM skills.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license by the State Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
