Job summary

ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery (Night Shift) in Livingston, New Jersey.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

This position requires working every other weekend and either working or providing on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).

The shift is scheduled for nights, specifically from 18:30 to 07:30.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery will provide high-quality care for low and high-risk patients, manage prenatal care in antepartum and postpartum periods, and facilitate delivery. The position involves functioning in various areas of maternal-child care, including Antepartum, L&D, L&D PACU, and Postpartum, with a focus on couplet care.

Candidates should be proficient in using the EPIC documentation system and possess a strong clinical skill set related to labor and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and monitor the health status of expectant mothers and newborns.
• Administer medications and IV therapies, including Pitocin, blood products, and other pertinent medications.
• Assist with various procedures such as C-sections, amnioinfusions, and fetal monitoring.
• Conduct patient education on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide holistic care for patients and families.
• Document patient care accurately and timely using the EPIC system.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Clinical experience in amnioinfusion, circulating/scrubbing in C-sections, performing NSTs and OCTs, and managing postpartum care.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at the time of submission; pending licenses accepted.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM.
