Job summary

Colonial Group's Allen County Juvenile Center seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care for confined youths, perform health assessments, administer medications, and assist in weekly medical clinics.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, an Indiana RN license, and CPR/First Aid certification; a 4/2 shift rotation may apply, with a 3% shift differential. Strong documentation and office software skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing and one year experience in nursing.
• Indiana State RN License in good standing.
• Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Knowledge of all local, state, and federal laws applicable to the Allen County Juvenile Center's health operations.

Responsibilities

• Conducts medical assessments of confined juveniles and documents significant health concerns.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments to confined juveniles.
• Conducts weekly medical clinic with physician and maintains records.
• Coordinates appointments with physicians, dentists and psychiatrists.
• Responds to emergencies, conducts sick calls and arranges further care as needed.
• Notifies administrators and communicates with parents about health issues.
