Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology to provide specialized nursing care in our inpatient IR unit, ensuring patient safety during procedures, performing procedural sedation, and overseeing patient recovery. Flexibility to float to other radiology areas may be required to support the team.

The role requires a California RN license, CPR, ACLS, and PALS, with at least 2 years in IR nursing, plus proficiency with EPIC EMR.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology nursing experience.
• Active California RN license.
• Current CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Experience with procedural sedation and patient recovery.
• Proficiency using EPIC EMR for documentation.
• Ability to float to other radiology areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
• Administer procedural sedation and monitor during and after procedures.
• Manage post-procedure recovery and ensure patient comfort.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
• Document with EPIC EMR for patient data management.
• Float to other radiology units as required to support unit needs.

The nurse may also float to other radiology nursing areas as needed, requiring flexibility and adaptability in clinical settings.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
• Administer procedural sedation and monitor patients during and after procedures.
• Manage patient recovery post-procedure, ensuring stability and comfort.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Utilize the EPIC EMR system for documentation and patient data management.
• Float to other radiology nursing areas as required to support unit needs.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of interventional radiology nursing experience.
• Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Experience with procedural sedation and patient recovery.
• Proficiency with the EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in multiple radiology nursing areas.
• Additional certifications related to radiology or critical care nursing.

Special Considerations:

• May be required to float to other radiology nursing units as needed.
• Work involves procedural sedation and patient monitoring in a fast-paced environment.
• Must maintain all current certifications and licensure.

Scheduling:

• Day shift schedule.
• Shift assignments based on unit needs and staffing requirements.
