Job summary

Mount Carmel East Medical Intermediate Care Unit (MIMCU) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a 1:4 patient ratio setting. The RN will work in a 12-hour day shift, handling respiratory, sepsis, post-surgical and other intermediate cases within the Ohio Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety and evidence-based nursing practice aligned with Mount Carmel’s Magnet-recognized standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
• Licensure: Current Ohio RN license.
• For Casual RNs: two years of experience required.
• New graduates with less than one year may enroll in Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care, ensures patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives.
• Assesses and evaluates patient care, collaborates with patient/family to develop a plan of care.
• Communicates pertinent information to the team in a timely manner and keeps patient/family updated.
• Documents assessments, interventions and outcomes per standards and policies.
• Assumes responsibility for care provided and documented by other staff as appropriate.
