Job summary

Marymount Hospital, part of the Cleveland Clinic Healthcare System, seeks an experienced RN for its ICU team in Cleveland. You will provide direct nursing care, implement and monitor care plans, and collaborate with physicians to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

A strong nursing foundation, valid RN license in Ohio, and at least one year of acute care experience are required; BLS and ACLS are required or obtained within the first year.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
  • Current state RN license and eligibility to practice in Ohio.
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience in a hospital.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS within hire or within 12 months post‑hire.
  • Military RN experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in the ICU.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.

Marymount Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) consists of 28 beds in two connected 14-bed pods and was designed for high acuity patients who need critical care and are being treated for serious medical conditions. Some of the most common procedures in this unit include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubation, central line placement, continuous renal replacement therapy, pronation, and therapeutic hypothermia. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. A caregiver in this position works rotating day/night shifts from 7:00am to 7:30pm and 7:00pm to 7:30am with every other weekend and holiday required.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
  • Will consider military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
