Job summary

Special Touch Home Care in New York seeks a Training Instructor to teach the approved Home Health Aide or Personal Care Aide curriculum at our Staten Island training school. When not teaching, the instructor will conduct in-services for staff and administer competency evaluations.

Responsibilities include supervising students, proctoring tests, documenting progress, and developing course objectives. Schedule: Mon-Thu 8AM-6PM; Fri-Sun off.

Qualifications

• BSN required and NYS license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience in New York.
• Minimum 1 year RN direct patient care in CHHA/LHCSA or Hospice.
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual preferred, not required.

Description

The Training Instructor will have the primary responsibility of teaching the approved training curriculum (Home Health Aide or Personal Care Aide) at our training school in Staten Island. When class is not in session this individual will conduct educational in-services for our Home Health Aides and Personal Care Aide as well as administer HHA/PCA competency evaluations.

Training will be done in accordance with all regulations and company policies.

Job Duties

• Provide related instruction and supervise students.
• Proctor and grade tests.
• Document students progress and complete required forms/reports in their entirety.
• Prepare and submit a course of study including program objectives, student performance objectives and lesson plans.
• Perform other duties related to this position requested by the director, program coordinator, and company management.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• NYS Licensed, Registered, in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New York
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a RN providing direct patient care at either a CHHA, LHCSA, or Hospice Program
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual (Preferred, Not Required)

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Pay: $92,500-$125,000 per year *Salary commensurate with experience
