Job summary

The MUSC Orangeburg Inpatient Rehab Unit provides 24-bed acute rehabilitation, where nurses work closely with therapists to promote mobility and independence after strokes, traumas, or surgeries. This PRN RN position supports 3 hours of therapy per day, collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, and participates in discharge planning and patient care across shifts.

The role requires capacity for varied hours, strong clinical skills, and commitment to MUSC Standards of Behaviors.

Qualifications

• RN license in South Carolina required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Documents initial nursing histories, assesses patients and develops care plans.
• Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and direct patient care.
• Evaluates outcomes of care and revises nursing plans as needed.
• Coordinates discharge planning.
• Rounds on patients to improve clinical outcomes.
