Job summary

Northwest Health - Portage is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Inpatient Rehab Unit on day shifts. This full-time role covers 36 hours weekly with 12-hour shifts, from 7a to 7p, in Portage, Indiana.

You will provide patient-centered care, coordinate with the care team, administer medications, and participate in care planning and education for patients and families. Benefits include loan assistance and relocation for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in an acute care setting required.
• RN licensure in state; BCLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the nursing process and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care per nursing process.
• Assess patients thoroughly and document findings; report changes promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within documented competency.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/code team activities.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans.
• Maintain infection control protocols and safe patient environment.
• Document care promptly in the medical record.
