University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority in Madison, WI is seeking an RN for an inpatient Neurosciences unit on a 75% FTE schedule with day/night shifts and a weekend rotation. The role offers opportunities to advance nursing skills within a high-acuity neuro setting.

You will join a collaborative team focusing on stroke care, epilepsy treatment, and complex neurology cases, with extensive nursing resources and institutional support for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification Required
  • Relevant Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Care for a variety of medical and surgical adult neuro patients, including post-surgical spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomy and ophthalmology cases, plus neurological conditions such as MS, ALS, GBS, trauma, or orthopedics with spinal injuries.
  • Be part of an interdisciplinary stroke team in a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program.
  • Contribute to diagnosis and treatment planning for epilepsy, in a Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center setting.

Join our fast-paced 25-bed neuro specialty general care unit that offers an opportunity to advance your nursing skills utilizing evidence-based practice and become part of a collaborative team that encourages and helps one another to succeed.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:

  • Care for a variety of medical and surgical adult neuro patients to include post-surgical spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomy and ophthalmology cases along with neurological patients with multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and trauma or ortho patients with multiple injuries/diagnosis or spinal fractures requiring orthotics.
  • Become part of our interdisciplinary team of stroke professionals. UW Health is proud to be a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program in WI with the ability to treat the most complex stroke cases in the state.
  • Help provide the highest level of diagnosis and treatment options for those with epilepsy. This unit includes a Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center as designated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.
