• Delegate patient care activities based on patient condition and scope of practice.
• Initiate measures based on protocol for managing medical/surgical patients.
• Document physician's plan of care accurately in the EMR.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.

About This Role

What You'll Do

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, and educational needs.
• Identify deviations from normal on routine lab diagnostic tests and reassess patients throughout hospitalization.
• Develop an individual nursing plan of care sensitive to the developmental needs of the patient.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other departments and community agencies.
• Develop patient teaching plans and document on care plans.
• Appropriately delegate patient care activities based on patient condition and scope of practice of other healthcare providers.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for managing medical and/or surgical patients.
• Correctly carry out the physician's plan of care and accurately document in the EMR.
• Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient responses to treatment.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.
