Description:The Registered Nurse will care for oncology patients with various diagnoses.The focus will be on complex cases, including but not limited to Cisplatin, FOLFOX, and FOLFIRI.Management of hypersensitivity reactions is essential.The nurse will administer treatments such as Zometa, Reclast, and zoledronic acid.Responsibilities include hydration, blood transfusions, and various injections.Community patients requiring iron, albumin, hydration, Prolia injections, and long or short-term antibiotics will also be treated.RNs are required to titrate drips, including IVIG, Rituximab, Remicade, IV Darzalex, Ocrevus, and blood transfusions.Charge nurses may take assignments.Nurses will have no dedicated aides, and most patients will be ambulatory.Basic oxygen equipment will be available.No telemetry or monitoring tech will be present on the unit, and RNs will read strips.Self-scheduling is allowed, with a balanced schedule.Approximately one weekend day per four-week schedule is required.No call or standby requirements are present.Floating to inpatient units to provide inpatient chemotherapy may be necessary.Scrubs must be navy blue.Orientation will include on-site training and completion of competency requirements.The facility can cancel shifts due to operational needs.Charting will be done via Cerner.BSN is not required for this position.
