Job summary

Avalon Health Care Inc — William E. Christoffersen Salt Lake Veterans Home in Salt Lake City is seeking an Infection Preventionist for a part-time evening shift (Thu-Sat, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM).

Lead infection prevention across the facility and support a culture of clinical excellence. You will monitor infections, train staff, conduct audits, and collaborate with clinical teams and public health partners to enhance resident safety.

Qualifications

• Current Utah RN license (or NLC-eligible).
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention and control efforts throughout the facility.
• Monitor, track, and investigate infections and potential outbreaks.
• Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention practices.
• Conduct audits and support compliance with infection control standards.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to improve resident safety and outcomes.
• Partner with local and state health agencies as required.
