Job summary

Riverside Rehab is seeking an Infection Control Preventionist to join its team. The role focuses on developing and evaluating infection prevention strategies, coordinating with leaders, and overseeing programs to protect residents and staff.

The ideal candidate is a licensed RN with supervisory experience and a flexible schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends. You will collaborate with physicians and public health entities to uphold high care standards in a long-term care

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in the state of practice.
• Experience leading or supervising teams in healthcare settings preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow directions with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plans.
• Partner with facility leaders and agencies on infection prevention activities.
• Oversee infection prevention, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, and safety programs.
• Monitor surveillance of healthcare- and community-acquired infections.
• Maintain quality assurance programs for the nursing unit.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
• Make independent decisions when warranted and communicate with diverse audiences.

The Riverside Rehab is looking to hire a Infection Control Preventionist to join their wonderful team.

RN Infection Control Preventions Job Description

• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary
• Reports to DIrector of Nursing and help to develop, implement and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plan
• Partners with facility leaders, physicians, local, state, and national agencies on activities related to infection prevention
• Oversees the operations of the infection prevention, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, and relevant safety programs
• Accountable for surveillance of healthcare acquired and community acquired infections
• Maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing unit
• Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents total regimen of care
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.

RN Infection Control Preventions Requirements/Qualifications

• Must have a current RN license for the state of practice.
• 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility preferred
• Completion of post-secondary education and be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance as requires.
• Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish this position.
• Must be able to adjust to a flexible schedule to include evenings, nights and weekend work hours.

Salary Range

$45-$50 an Hour (Based on Experience) (Salaried Employee)
