Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. in Bloomington, IL seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver and coordinate medical care in a correctional setting. You will assess patients, administer treatments, document care, and collaborate with practitioners to ensure quality outcomes.

The role requires maintaining infection control, HIPAA practices, and supporting patient and staff education while covering shifts as needed across facilities.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state where services are provided.
• BLS certification; hands-on training
• Excellent documentation skills
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate
• Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site, when appropriate
• Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call
• Record information in chronic clinic and outcome study documents as indicated
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices as required by government agencies
