Job summary

CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking RNs to provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and ensure optimal patient care in a full-time role. Candidates must possess a California RN license and demonstrate critical communication and nursing skills.

This position requires experience in an acute care setting, with preference for ICU experience. Training includes certifications such as BLS and ACLS, along with knowledge of EKG.

Job description

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings, and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk, and communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable to adult (Adult (x)) and geriatric populations (Geriatric (x)).
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care interventions appropriately to ensure optimal patient care.
• Administrates medications per protocol/policy, observing and documenting patient’s response.
• Assesses patients’ conditions and develops and updates individual plans of care.
• Monitors physiological, cognitive status of patients and timely reports changes to physicians and/or other appropriate personnel, including follow-up on lab/test results.
• Documents in a clear, complete, legible, organized and timely manner, demonstrating critical thinking skills in the nursing process.
• Maintains current competencies and skill levels required for work/specialty area.
• Participates in quality and performance improvement programs.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education (Indicate minimum education or degree required.)

• Graduate of RN Training Program
• Completion of a basic EKG course

• Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate preferred years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.)

• Minimum one (1) year recent experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• One (1) year experience in ICU setting preferred.

• NIHSS (Stroke)
• Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire)

Status: Full Time/Part Time/Per Diem

Shift: Days/Evenings/Nights

Shift Hours: 12hrs

Bi-Weekly Hours: 24hs up to 72hrs
